We’re excited to share that Nîkanêse Wah tzee is featured in the BC Conservation Fund’s new interactive Storymap!
The BC Conservation Fund supports inspired people and impactful projects that accelerate conservation for land and freshwater areas across BC, while creating lasting benefits for communities and economies.
The BC Conservation Fund has created an interactive Storymap showcasing a selection of inspiring area-based conservation initiatives it supports, featuring images and information about the projects, as well as links to explore further. This Storymap is being used to help connect students across BC with examples of real conservation efforts through the Learning by Nature program, an initiative that is funded by and advances the goals and objectives of Stream 3: Education & Working Together of the BC Conservation Fund.
Learning by Nature is a province-wide initiative to bring nature education into schools, growing a culture of stewardship across B.C. By 2030, the program aims to establish outdoor learning spaces on every schoolground, connect students with real conservation projects, and support teachers with curriculum resources, professional development, and field trips.
We’re honoured that our caribou habitat restoration work is included as a resource for teachers and students exploring the critical role of conservation in protecting caribou and their habitat. Helping young people connect with this story is an important step in building future generations of environmental stewards.
Thank you BC Parks Foundation for your support and partnership!
